Controlling Post and Comment Access

Learn How to Control Who Can See and Comment on Your Posts

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When creating a post in your Group, you have two separate controls: who can see the post and who can comment on it.

How to set access when creating a post

When you're ready to publish, click Next and you'll be prompted to set access for both your post and comments before it goes live. You must select an option for both β€” there is no default.

Post Access

This controls who can see your post:

  • Everyone β€” All members can see the post, including free tier

  • [Your paid tier name] β€” Only subscribers of that tier and above can see the post

Comment Access

This controls who can comment, regardless of who can see the post:

  • Everyone β€” All members can comment, including free tier

  • [Your paid tier name] β€” Only subscribers of that tier and above can comment

When a free member tries to comment on a locked post, they'll be prompted to upgrade to the required tier.

Editing access after posting

You can update post and comment access at any time by tapping the three dots on your post and selecting Edit.

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: Set post access to Everyone and comment access to a paid tier. Free members can read the conversation but can't join in β€” a great nudge to subscribe.
