***If you want to see a step-by-step guide on everything that Media Folders can do and how to properly set one up, scroll down
Even if you donāt have any media to upload right now, itās great to at least have a folder that says āComing Soonā in the description so the tab isnāt empty. This also shows fans that you are already planning on doing more stuff.
The basics of the Media Folder is that you would:
Click Create New Folder
Put A Title (such as Exclusive Music)
Put a quick description (if you donāt have anything, you can just say āComing Soonā¦ā, if you do then it could say āPaid members get access to all my exclusive music including demos, unreleased songs, and early access to singlesā
Below the description thereās a toggle that allows you to lock the folder. This means that only Paid Members (or Tiers that have the Media Folder access toggled on in the settings page) will have access to the folder. If you leave it gray, it will allow access to ALL members for Free. (You can also chose to make it Pay What You Want or One Time Purchase for all members)
Finally add a thumbnail image
If the folder is only for paid members, you can choose to upload a preview for all members as well.
HOW TO CREATE A MEDIA FOLDER:
1. Go the Media tab and click "New Folder"
2. Enter a name, description, and thumbnail image. Then you have 3 options:
(a) Free for everyone OR only allow paid members to have access to the folder (*scroll to the bottom to see how a tier can have access to these locked folders).
(b) One Time Purchase - this means ALL members (free or paid) have to pay a price that you set to access the folder. This is great to sell digital products like 1-1 zoom calls, cameo-style videos, and more! Just leave the locked folder grey, check the box next to "Pay what you can afford" and put the minimum price in the Folder Price that someone can pay to have access (must be at least $3).
(c) Pay What You Want - this means you set a minimum price and all fans (free or paid) have to pay at least that amount to access the folder. This is ideal for early access to an album or long-form video content (like a documentary).
3. Rename your media and add a custom thumbnail (optional), but remember to click save!
